About Niteroi
De La Espada - 2014
Niteroi is a pendant light that can be used individually or in a cluster, hanging at different lengths and positions from a custom-made ceiling rose.
The studio set itself the task of creating a light from as few pieces as possible. To do this we developed a single machined component that would secure the source and disperse the light as well as being a sculptural object in itself.
After researching materials and manufacture, we were able to realise it as one aluminium component. An LED module screws into the bottom, and a cable comes out of the top.
